About Dr Adaeze Cosmos Nwaokeke

Hi, I’m Dr. Adaeze Cosmos, and if you’re here, chances are you’re an optometrist looking to qualify and practice in the UK. I know exactly how challenging and overwhelming this journey can feel. The uncertainty, the complicated documentation, and the anxiety of the GOC interview—it’s a lot. But I’m here to tell you: You don’t have to walk this road alone.
I hold an OD and MSc in Clinical Optometry, and I’m a certified independent prescriber with advanced certifications in contact lens fitting, glaucoma, medical retina, and pediatric optometry. I’ve had the privilege of consulting in optometry for over 20 years and helping international optometrists navigate their qualification journey in the UK for nearly a decade.

I’ve seen firsthand how daunting the process can be. In fact, many of the candidates I’ve worked with started out feeling unsure, frustrated, and even stuck. But I also know what’s possible when you have the right guidance, mentorship, and resources. I’ve helped optometrists just like you prepare, build their confidence, and succeed in their GOC interviews.
I’ve walked this path with countless professionals from diverse backgrounds, and every success story fills me with gratitude. Each one reminds me of why I started this academy—to help you not only qualify but thrive in your career here in the UK.
But it’s not just about the qualifications. It’s about understanding the unique challenges international optometrists face, from adapting to new clinical practices to navigating cultural differences in patient care. I’ve been privileged to mentor and coach optometrists through these transitions, and seeing them succeed inspires me to keep going.
I believe that every professional has the potential to shine—sometimes, you just need someone who understands your journey to walk alongside you.
On a personal note, I’m married to an incredible man, Pastor Kenneth Cosmos, and we have four wonderful children. My family is my greatest support system, and my faith in God is my foundation. Everything I’ve achieved has been through His grace, and it’s my honor to use my skills and experience to serve others.
If you’re ready to take the next step toward your UK qualification, I would love to support you through this process. The journey may not always be easy, but with the right support, it’s possible—and you’re closer to your goal than you think.
